The Intec Group, Inc. History

  • In 1953, the Company was founded as Permonite Manufacturing Company in Morocco, Indiana.

 

  • Permonite began making electro-mechanical assemblies for consumer electronics.
  • The Company developed "insert molding" in 1960 with insert molded CRT sockets for consumer electronics.
  • In 1983, Permonite purchased Cardinal Tool to integrate metal stamping as part of our core technology. Our corporate name changed to The Intec Group, Inc.
  • Intec and Peter Tilling Plastics, Ltd. of the United Kingdom became global joint venture partners in 1989.
  • In 1993, Intec acquired New Metrics, Inc. to provide our customers with concurrent engineering capability, CAD/CAE/CAM services and in-house rapid turn around prototypes.
  • In April of 1995, The Intec Group and Wauconda Tool & Engineering, an operating division of Stern Metals, formed a strategic alliance to consolidate metal stamping capabilities at WT&E's, Elgin, Illinois facility.
  • In the second quarter of 1996, The Intec Group's joint venture with Sanwa Plastics and Amtek Engineering, Intec Manufacturing (Asia) Pte. Ltd., began production in Singapore.
  • In November 1997, The Intec Group's Palatine Illinois, Morocco, Indiana and our Singapore subsidiary Intec Manufacturing Asia received QS9000 registration.
  • Intec and Erce Plasturgie of France became global joint venture partners in 1998.
