The Intec Group started its Guaymas, Sonora manufacturing in Mexico operation with 20 workers in a 3,000-square-meter plant that used nine presses to insert mold automotive components. Today, the Intec site in Offshore Group's Roca Fuerte industrial park employs 525, occupies 7,000 square meters and operates 61 presses -- mostly Nissei brand -- with 30 to 450 tons of clamping force. Intec prides itself on the independence and autonomy of its Guaymas, Mexico plant. Staff designs and builds molds and assembly equipment from scratch. Entire systems are built, designed and maintained by locals using state-of-the-art infrastructure. The company's on-the-job training is without rival. An on-site tool room possesses the required software, hardware, and know-how that makes the plant virtually self-sufficient. This means that Intec keeps the cost of tool repair and maintenance low for customers, but -- more important -- it means that if there is an unexpected emergency that requires a part of a tool to be fabricated, it can be done in hours utilizing CAD/CAM software and CNC controlled EDM's and machining centers. |
